Although pregnancy is a beautiful thing, we don’t always feel so “beautiful”. In fact, sometimes we feel the opposite. Not only are we gaining weight faster than we ever have before, we are swelling up, maybe breaking out, and just feeling bloated and tired. If you’re looking for ways to boost your self esteem, and to feel better about yourself, here are some ideas for feeling a more “beautiful” and pregnant you!

Get extra rest: When we’re pregnant, we’re tired. Our bodies are working hard to not only meet the needs of ourselves, but for our baby as well. So, go to bed earlier, sleep in a little longer, or take a nap if you have to! Rest not only rejuvenates your body, but it also helps your brain and your body work better.
Watch what you’re eating: A lot of people mistake food for pleasure. Food is supposed to fuel us and give us energy. So, fill up on those energizing foods and skip out on the processed, fatty foods that just make you feel even more sluggish. Give you and your baby what it needs. Also, be sure to take your prenatal vitamins on a daily basis! These vitamins have certain vitamins that will give your baby what it needs as they’re growing.
Exercise: Just because you’re pregnant, it doesn’t mean you can exercise. In fact, doing things like taking your dog for a walk, doing some low cardio on the treadmill, and doing an extra lap around the mall will only benefit the both of you! Not to mention, when we exercise, we release endorphins which get rid of stress and make the brain and body feel great. The more exercise the better! Just be sure to avoid doing certain ones like high impact, fast cardio or pilates type work outs.
Go shopping: If we don’t have clothes that fit us properly they don’t flatter us. So, get some of your girlfriends together and do some shopping! When we have clothes that are cute and fit us well, we feel much more confident! Not to mention, cute clothes help us look more confident which in turn makes us look even more beautiful.
Pamper yourself: After all these months of being pregnant, you deserve a good pamper. Go to your local salon and maybe get a manicure or pedicure or consider getting your hair done. Getting pampered makes us feel great, and it makes it look great!
When we feel pretty, we look pretty. Hiding behind the baggy clothes, eating a bad diet and not getting exercise can easily bring your self esteem down. So, consider a few of these tips and take good care of you and your baby! Pregnancy is a long journey, but the wait is well worth it!
